Mount Tarawera Tour

Great trip

We were fortunate to do the trip on a clear , sunny day in winter which meant that the views were spectacular and the colourful rock layers on the mountain looked stunning against a blue sky. So glad we did this trip. I understand that proceeds from each ticket are used for planting and pest control on the mountain and they seem to be doing a great job in this respect.

Thank you so much for your lovely review! We're thrilled to hear you had such a clear and sunny day for your trip—there’s nothing quite like seeing the colourful rock formations set against a winter blue sky. We’re also really grateful that you noticed our conservation efforts. Every ticket really does help support native planting and pest control on the mountain, so thank you for being a part of that. Great Trip

Beautiful views. Tramped at the pace of the slowest person with plenty of stops to look around. Knowledgeable young guides. The trip in the 4wd van on the way up was an experience in itself. Saw wallabies.
