Thank you for your review! Great to hear you had fun!
We saved about 10% by using BookMe. Our rafting trip reservation had to be rescheduled to the day before due to increasing water levels, and the staff was very flexible in the options they offered. The trip itself was very exciting! Our guide, Jack, was a great teacher, and gave us opportunities to try something new at each rapid. I felt safe the entire time - even when we went down the 7 miter waterfall! The water was warm but they gave us wetsuits anyway. I absolutely recommend booking with Rotorua Rafting!
Thanks, Emily for coming out and checking out the river with us. Jack is a ripper of a guide. Hope the rest of you mission was epic 🤙Thansk again
The customer service we received from start to finish was very poor and condescending. Multiple people from their team were trying to rush us through check in without ever welcoming us or giving an overview. They gave my girlfriend shoes 3 sizes below what she asked for and then were condescending when she confirmed, as expected, that they were too small. There were multiple attempts at jokes that were generally in bad taste. The rafting experience was very start and stop. Going over the rapids were fun but there was 5 minutes of stopping and waiting for every other raft for every 30 seconds of our raft moving. At the end of the trip, our guide asked us to carry the boat up, which we were happy to do, but then he did not help at all. They instructed us to carry the raft on top of our heads, hurting everyones necks despite the guide not helping because of his own neck problems. Would recommend going to any of the other rafting companies in the area. It costs a business little to no money to have friendly guides and good service. This company completely ignores this.
Kia ora Tim, Thanks for your feedback again, I see you and your partner have written this on multiple platforms to get your point across and we are obviously disappointed that you haven't given us the opportunity to correspond here or chatted with us after. Firstly, we are sorry you had a disappointing trip. We pride ourselves on our customer service and we provide the best trips that we possibly can. We back our small team and love to show off our backyard in the best style possible. You can see this from our countless 5-star reviews and the continued 5-star reviews, including the day and time that you came rafting with us. The day that you came rafting was in our peak period "Boxing Day." Travelling through New Zealand anytime between 26th December and 10th January is very busy. To combat this we actually had extra staff on, who not only welcomed everyone into the base but we split the trips into two so that you have smaller and more personable trips. Yes, we agree the base is busy but we are organised to move quickly and efficiently to get you on the river and have more time having fun!! Booties are always given 2 to 3 sizes smaller than what you will tell us, this is not to be uncomfortable but because they are enormous, and when swimming immediately fall off. We lose many pairs to the river and we make sure that we keep them tight for this reason. This is not to be condescending at all, they are just big sizes. We are sorry that this wasn't clear. Carrying the boat up from the river is not a necessity. We do ask crews if they are happy to help out and do so if they are fit and able to. If you were unhappy at any point we would immediately get you to stop. We would never put you in a situation where you hurt yourself. Thanks again for your feedback, we understand you are disappointed and if you would like to contact us directly to chat about this, please email us at [email protected] or call us on 0800 772 384. We hope you enjoy the rest of your travels through NZ.
Very rushed experience although we were 10 minutes late . No safety briefing , no trial getting in and out of raft , felt very commercial and pushing for the next group. We went with Kaituna Cascades rafting last year and it was much more friendly relaxed and enjoyable
Kia Ora Elaine, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We apologise that your experience with us didn't meet your expectations, and we appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns. We understand that the summer months bring increased demand for our rafting tours, and we strive to accommodate all participants to allow everyone the chance to enjoy the river. To enhance the experience for everyone, we kindly ask that participants arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled tour start time. This allows for a smooth check-in process and ensures that everyone can fully participate in our initial briefing. We acknowledge that sometimes unforeseen circumstances may arise, and we make every effort to be flexible. However, last-minute changes can be challenging, particularly in peak times when tours are fully booked. Our ultimate goal is to provide a wicked rafting experience for all our guests. We appreciate your understanding and thank you for choosing to join us on the river. Thanks for your feedback, which we will use to continually improve our services. If you have any further comments or suggestions, please feel free to reach out to us. Ngā Mihi Operations
